In 2004, former NASCAR driver, Kyle Petty, with the help of a few of his friends, organized a cross-country motorcycle ride in honor of his late son, Adam. This ride became an annual event, attracting fans and supporters along the way, and eventually became known as the Anniversary Charity Ride Across America. From his grief at the loss of his son, and his dedication to children who suffer serious illness, Kyle's annual ride benefits Victory Junction, the camp he founded for children. Victory Junction is located in Randleman, North Carolina, and offers memorable camp experiences with medical resources available, if necessary, to children who might otherwise not have the opportunity to enjoy some carefree "playtime" with their friends.
Victory Junction exists solely through the support of charitable donations and is always free for the children who are eligible to attend. The camp provides a much needed respite for the parents and gives them a chance to remember that their children are still children, a fact that often seems lost in the midst of dealing with serious illness. This year's ride was held from April 27 to May 3, beginning in Idaho and ending 2,100 miles later in Arizona. Approximately 175+ motorcyclists participated in the ride this year, helping to raise more than $15M through the years which has helped to benefit more than 18,000 children. Original Bike Spirits is proud to have been a sponsor of this year's ride, supplying OBS Spray Cleaner and Polish, Cycle Wash, and Cycle Fuel System Supreme to the motorcyclists who gave their time and energy to this most worthy cause.
